COREtec, like most luxury vinyl plank (LVP), is meant to echo hardwood, but while (LVP) relies on images, COREtec melts resins, stabilizers, and other substances together and then presses into planks of a variety of widths and lengths. The planks are then strategically randomized to give the overall floor grains, finishes, and beveled edges.
We’ve had some of our customers tell us they thought they were looking at natural wood planks at first and, since these are waterproof floors, they are ideal for the kitchen, bath, or laundry room, but stylish enough to use anywhere, from the living room to the bedroom.
Durability
It doesn’t matter if your family is large or small, if you have kids or pets, or even do a lot of entertaining. This floor can stand up to anything. Like most LVP, COREtec flooring has four layers, but one of them is an extra layer of vinyl to replace what would typically be the image layer. At the very top is a clear, strong melamine coating that protects the floor from scratches, scuff and keeps spills at the top waiting to be wiped off. Under the vinyl top layer are the core and cork underlayment.
COREtec is also easy to clean with daily sweeping and weekly mopping, but avoid wax and shine promoting cleaners. These floors can float; here, the pieces click together, mat, and then hover over the subfloor without nails or glue.
